EVE Online: Apocrypha Revealed
Thread for stuff leaked about the expansion in March (the 10th!).
http://myeve.eve-online.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&bid=615
CCP Zulupark Wrote:In Apocrypha, March 10th, we discontinue support for ShaderModel 1, making ShaderModel 2 (GeForce FX (5 series) or ATi R300 series cards or compatible) the minimum requirement and discontinue the "Classic client" version of EVE, replacing it with "Premium Lite"

CCP Explorer Wrote:The next expansion is planned in March and does not include Walking in Station. Instead there will wormholes, tech 3, improved new player experience, smarter NPCs that are more fun to kill, more and better missions and stuff.

CCP Explorer Wrote:[About industry changes in EVE Apocrypha] Not the industry revamp we planned for Quantum Rise but there will be changes to S&I related to Tech 3.

CCP t0rfifrans Wrote:One thing I might add is that in Apocrypha it's very likely that you will be able to save fittings, export to XML, share with friends and corp mates etc. I say very likely because we plan to do it, provided other more high profile things get done and polished.
Also, thanks for laughing at the thread subject.

Bollocks. When will Ambulation ever come? I'm starting to suspect it to be vaporware.

I think the last rumor for a date I heard was summer this year... so March would still be early for that.
Not holding my breath for summer either, though.

As far as I remember Ambulation according to the fan fest videos was scheduled for the winter expansion.
When Apocrypha [sp?] was first announced with T3 wormholes and stuff everyone got excited about ambulation which CCP said was not going to be out in the march expansion...patience it will come and for 4 weeks there will be nothing in space to shoot

There is currently no release date for Ambulation. No promise, no nothing. I.e. we'll get it "when it's done." (Good, I don't want a half-finished product).
CCP does two expansions per year. Apocrypha is the "summer expansion" - it's quite early for that, though. The next one will then be the winter expansion, which should happen in nov/dec. Ambulation might be in then, which would be good for the christmas market, but there is no promise or even a statement on this at all.

Sounds like Guild Wars 2, which was announced something like two years ago (one year, nine months and 3 weeks ago if you want to be precise) and players are still impatiently waiting for the beta testing (which, according to current rumour, is set to come about around April or May)

Tbh, Amubulation is slowly evolving into Duke Nukem : Forever status.
I can't remember reading it, but I don't think Storefronts are getting released with this expansion either are they?

Storefronts in the form they were on SiSi most likely will never happen:
CCP Explorer Wrote:Two of the initial goals of Storefronts were to allow players to easily get expert fitted ships, all in one place. In the analysis we determined that the "expert fitted" part would not have driven traffic to Storefronts since players could have just viewed the offers to get fitting ideas and then bought everything on the market, but there was no real dissemination of ideas. So we are working on other ways to solve the "how should I fit my ship" part. The "all in one place" was valid but we were not happy with the implementation and there are other ways to address that part that would be more elegant.
What we discovered in the development process is that players wanted more something along the lines of "members only" stores for corps and alliances. For example, being able to not sell to their enemies, or sell corp or alliance members ships at mineral prices (possibly even in exchange for minerals and not ISK) but to others at full price.

It could be worse. One games beats them all for development time: Duke Nukem Forever.
It's been about 10 years now.
