(I've posted this on the EVE Idea's forum)

It's an idea for use in LOW SEC mining op's.
A T2 Variant of the Freighter Hull with a small docking bay for the off loading of ore (1 ship at a time), and possible refining gear as as well.

Skills listings:
As per the Freighter Skill set, plus the following skills at 5: All types of Ore processing, Refining, Industry & Mining Barge.

You're thinking this will unbalance the game, but with the insanely slow Freighter Chasis it could realy slow a fleet of Barges and guards down. It would also encourage mining op's to go into 0.0 / Low Sec where stations are few and far between.
It would also be a huge focus of hostile Gangs intent on taking down a 0.0 Alliance Mining op.

Your thoughts

CCP have been talking about an industrial capital ship. Whether they base it on an existing chassis (freighter, carrier, etc) or whether they make a new one is I think less critical than what they do with it. I think most people would like to see a mobile refinery platform but if they keep it in-line with the starbase refinery structures they will be very slow and inefficient.

On one hand I like the idea but on the other hand I wonder about the value when contrasted against the obvious challenges involved with defending such a mobile target. Compare this with the alternative which is just to jump a medium POS into the system and set it up for a day with a large storage array and a refinery and then haul the minerals out at the end. Once all is done take the POS down and jump it back out by carrier.

I'm really looking forward to CCP coming up with something along this line but I do not envy them the challenge of finding something that is actually going to be worth the effort and risk.
