It's been some time since the first Humble Indie Bundle was out, and just for the holidays the same folks are bringing the deal back with five new games. This time it's Braid, Machinarium, Osmos, Cortex Command and Revenge of the Titans. Like World of Goo in the last bundle, Braid is the main selling point here and whatever money you end up paying, rest assured that Braid alone is worth it. And when you finish it I can have angry discussions about it with you. Seriously, I do this a lot.

I am a huge fan of indie games, both tabletop and computer. I am also a huge proponent of alternative approaches to the way economy should work in post-scarcity conditions. Humble Indie Bundle combines these two interests and if you're like me on either of those counts, you'll love the Humble Indie Bundle.

For those unfamiliar with this sale model, the deal here is that you get to name your own price. It can be literally whatever you want it to be. Less than a dollar works. A lot less than a dollar. Currently the highest paid price is a thousand dollars. You can also assign the money as you see fit between the game developers and two charities (Electronic Frontier Foundation and Child's Play; both are worthwhile causes that deserve your support). You can, in fact, assign your money in such a way that you are getting the games while the entirety of the money you pay is going to one or both of the charities.

All the games you buy will be absolutely DRM free. You will get a link to download them when you buy them and that link will ALSO be DRM free. You can use it as many times as you want, from as many places as you want and nothing will prevent you from giving it to whomever you see fit (the developers politely asked last time around to consider sparing their server bandwidth if you're going to pirate the games and use torrent instead). About a couple weeks back, those who purchased the previous bundle received a Steam code that allowed them to get the games on Steam as well, so I suspect this will be the case with the new bundle as well.

Support awesome people who make awesome games and stick it to publisher/distributor scum.

Last humble bundle had games that weren't to my taste, but this time Machinarium! Braid! Eeek! (not a game, just a sound of excitement)
Let me check my wallet...
