Mathew Kane sighs, again, as he reads the latest corp chatter on his neocom. Even sipping from real honest to God Ammarian Tea did little to lift his spirits. "Oy, everythin al'right sar?" Kane looked up and smiled at his XO. "Mr Korbin. Yes. No. Maybe" The XO chuckled and sat down next to his Captain. "So whats the matter if it ant all confidential like?"
"Oh the Alliance is bitching because some 'rat bastard we kicked around in the last war wants to join up". The XO looked down for a moment before speaking " Ya mean a Pirate? Ant that describe damn near every crew member on an egger's ship?" Kane took another slow sip of tea before answering "Sometimes. I'd be more worried about him becoming a security risk...but at the same time one of the alliance counsel members vouched for em. And do remember Mr Korbin that while I may employ a person of less then reputable design on to my ship, they don't fire my cannon's."
The XO reached across the table and helped himself to a cup of tea. "So how do ya feel about it sar?" "I don't know" Kane said, "I do what I'm ordered to do. Hell, it's not even my Corp that's hiring em" Kane squinted his eyes and looked down at his neo-com. "At least I don't think we are.."
"And if'n they did sar? Ifen say ya betters did hire this guy?" Kane shrugged and sat his neo com down "I'd fly with em I suppose. I'm not the one making the orders, I just need to follow em. Thank you Mr Korbin but I think I had better get ready to retire. The XO gulped down the rest of his beverage before standing and sauteing his Ship Master.
