"Shit shit shit" stammered Bozman. He was completely trapped. Minmatar Miltia had both gates covered, and he just saw scanner probes on directional.
He muttered more curses under his breath as he fumbled with the tubes and dials in a desperate gambit. In a few seconds he was deep in cyro sleep. In a few minutes the power signature from his ship would fade and there would be no way to find him, but during those few minutes he would be a motionless hunk of metal defenseless in space.
"Ok, he is here! warp to me" cried the SRE B prober.
The combined militia forces descend on the curse class combat recon ship. She didn't put up much of a struggle motionless and powered down, and the automated pilot on the escape pod executed an emergency warp. Bozman was shaken violently in his escape pod as it cleared the wreakage and entered warp, but even that did not bring him out of stasis.
"Ok, go ahead warp to me" once again cried the prober. And Bozman's cyro sleep ended, and a new Amarr corpse twisted in the black.
The militia forces began to drift and thin as they shared a chuckle over Bozman's cowardly and failed attempt at escape. "The Amarr dog didn't escape justice this time"
The com channel chatter was cut silent at the sounding of a chime. Intel pored in of enemy fleet movement 3 systems away in Hula and mobilizing.
"Rally POS!, rally POS in Auga" came the call, and the fleet flew off in independent flurry of warps and jumps.
The Amarr miltia forces moved more quickly than expected, jumped into Auga and closed on the Dal gate with a few battle cruisers and heavy frig support fleet hoping to cut of the heroes of the republic. However, more quickly than expected was still not fast enough.
The Republic's fleet docked and quickly swamped to a heavy battle cruiser and battle ship fleet to counter the enemy.
"Ahh... they got like several BS and BC now" cried the Amarr cloaked scout in Auga to the imperial fleet.
The Amarr held on the gate, as the Militia jumped threw to them and engaged.
The Amarr were aware they didn't have this fight, and waited instead. The Republic's fleet agressed and out of jump range put the Amarr in position to execute a tactical retreat. And they did, jumping into Auga and running for Huola.
Zoarial, the enemy fleet commander, proclaimed "Alright, let's pull out and jump in some Battleships for a remote rep spider configuration."
A novel idea, but the Amarr maltia under the Zoarial's command wasn't a well disciplined fighting force. It wasn't a trained unit, but rather a group of individuals of glory seekers. They debated the order, they complained about available ships, they took too long
The SRE B heavy fleet sent a call out for reinforcements to counter the 16 pilot enemy fleet; and was answered by members of ROSS and additional EM support. With their own ranks swelling they pursued the enemy fleet.
Zoarial only had 3 battleships, 4 battle cruisers, and 1 command ship for the core of his fleet with some frigates for tackle. Half his fleet was several jumps away scrambling for their ships.
Zoarial examined the Intel report in front him. It read, "Got a few of them now in Kourmonen, like a few BC and two battleships and some frig sized stuff"
"We'll we can take that" he thought as he ordered his 1/2 formed fleet to the Kourmonen gate in Houla. He didn't want the opportunity to slip by.
Fearful of another "tactical retreat" from Zoarial, SRE B sent in bait first. And a single rupture cruiser class jumped into the enemy gauntlet. Zoarial could engage and the rest of the fleet would be on them, they could run and sacrifice a few to tacklers, they could jump in and engage themselves. But all options lead to combat.
"Kill the noob rupture!" was the battle call, "oh... ah get Myth Blood in the Drake" .. "Ok cancel that, new primary is Die Whatever in the tempest" ... "Ahh no primary is BD Magnum he is closer, All dps on BD Magnum!"
The frantic and disorganized calls only lead to compound the Amarr's failure. Amarr ships began to explode as their bulkheads buckled one after the other. Zoarial's phoon was among the casualties and he called for a retreat before his escape pod ripped in two and exposed him to the cold vacuum, but what was left of his fleet had already begun to flee.
One of the wayward Amarr miltia members arrived in a scorpion to assist with the retreat, and while beeing mildly annoying was counter jammed by a Minmatar friendly falcon.
The command ship, a battle ship, a single battle cruiser, and some frigs were all that survived the encounter.
The lost ruppy was a noble sacrifice, and the Republic suffered no other losses.
The Minmatar fleet split up for the night, and many began to turn to the cryo chambers to recuperate.
Altaen of Electus Matari, continued to scout, and reported several pirate battle cruisers moving around in Dal. The opportunities presented beaconed to SRE B pilots who found the strength to put of sleep for just a bit longer.
"Yeah he isn't going for it, I'll try and dock up and and undock as he is right outside the docking ring." reported Ghost.
Attempts to bait the pirates were not turning out to be very fruitful.
Altaen reported several of the pirate battle cruisers at the Kamela gate.
"They aren't here anymore" confirmed Ghost as his ship exited the docking ring.
Ghost followed the priates into Kamela, only to find them engaged with the Amarr militia. The pirates lost a cane to the Amarr, and the rest of the pirates fled.
SRE B came shortly behind, and destroyed an enemy hurricane in the mayhem as the rest of the Amarr scattered.
The battle over SRE B returned to Auga and attempted yet again to find the cryo chambers and get a good night rest.
Altaen's intel was constant however, and with more movements of Amarr battle cruisers relayed SRE B pilots continued to stir, and rushed to Altaen's call.
Altaen seeing the oportunity slipping away, pointed the enemy Myrmidon and held it for SRE B pilots. While Altaen did in fact keep the pilot there long enough for SRE B tackle to arrive, it turned out to be a suicide mission. The myrm pilot didn't hesitate to return hostilities and Altaen sacrificed his ship for the kill.
A nano-ed Amarr hurricane showed up to assist his friend, but quickly fled the field. And the remainder of the Amarr militia forces that had been on the other side of the gate in Dal docked up.
It was a glorious evening for the republic, and one with a reoccurring theme of sacrifice. The Republic's bait pilots can rest assured their sacrifices were not in vain.
For the glory of the Republic, for the freedom of all Minmatar souls, and for peace, yes for eventual peace. The republic will march on and SRE B under their banner.
At least for a little longer...
