The elderly priest's voice comes as a whisper, although manages to upset Aran Farad somewhat. "My lord, the Gallentean capsuleer has arrived.."
Aran nods to the priest and rises, takes a moment to calm himself down and makes his way to the garden.
The man stands waiting under a Javei tree. Aran walks casually up to him and the two meet secluded from prying ears.
"I was rather taken by surprise to recieve your letter.", the Gallentean says as they shake hands. "I did not expect to find such.. mercy among your people."
"Mercy is God's wish. I, on the other hand, was surprised that you responded. It seems your people are all very capable of preaching about slavery but very few are willing to take the risk and act upon it when the opportunity arises."
Aran's response takes the Gallentean by surprise and makes him realize that he is not dealing with the average Amarrian holder. Could this be for real?
He continues to speak in a casual tone.
"Ofcourse you understand that the risk you are taking is nothing compared to mine, being marked as a traitor among my people. I trust in your total discretion."
The Gallentean nods.
"Ofcourse."
"Let us proceed then. The sooner you are out of here unseen the better." Aran smiles. "I mean no disrespect ofcourse"
The capsuleer smiles back and waves dissmissively.

"What is it father? Ill be right out"
The girl rushes out of their home to meet her father outside, a grim look on his face.
"My daughter." He says and pauses, looking away from her as the tears come.
"You know that even in slavery we have stood lucky, managed to stay together all these years and whatever happens I want you to know that.."
Sebek could never finish that sentence.
"Father..?"
He steels himself and the words come out cold and premeditated.
"Our master, mr. Aran spoke with me. He told me of an opportunity for you to escape this fate, this life, for you to be more than a slave."
"..m..me?" The little girl can hardly speak. "What about you? and mother? and Jahd.."
"It is a one way ticket for either you or Jahd, thats not up to me to decide. Whoever is chosen must leave here, today. Me and your mother think it..it is for the best."
The girls voice comes with surprising determination. "I dont want to go!"
"You may have to, my daugther. Consider it the last thing in your life thats enforced upon you, a present from our master."

"Excuse me, but I find you a rather controversial character. How can someone participate in slavery and oppose it at the same time?"
"I would find it hard not to participate, given my status and position. It would also be difficult to oppose it in the manner that i do, had I not participated, dont you think?"
The Gallentean grins, once again surprised at the man's intelligence.
"There are currently nine people in my possesion, a family of four and five others. They are ofcourse still slaves in the contemporary sense but be assured they are treated well, having privileges others could not imagine."
"I expected as much. So, how does this work, do I get.. to choose?"
Aran clears his throat.
"There is also the small matter of coin. Standard price will do."
"Oh?"
"My family is not wealthy enough to give away its assets. The cash is needed for me to continue my... activities. It would also be very conspicuous if I did."
"I see. No matter there, the sum will be transferred immediately."
"I have also taken the liberty of choosing for you, after all, the young are more fitting to be redeemed, no?"
"Fair enough."
"The family has two children. Male and female. You get to choose which one."
"Their ages?"
"The boy is eleven, the girl fifteen."
"I guess the girl is more appropriate then, due to my research I could not handle raising a small child."
"So be it. Arrangements will be made and she will be transported to your ship in one hour. We shall not speak again, nor have we ever spoken for that matter. Be ready to depart and please do not raise any suspicion."
With that, the two men exchange a handshake and part ways.

"Welcome child, this is my ship, the Aspirant. I know there is much grief within you now but please rest assured that no wicked fate awaits you.
I do not ever hope to replace your family but maybe in time we could get to know and trust each other."
The girl looks up to the man, eyes red from crying. Her speech is barely audible through her sobs.
"..what will become of me?"
The man walks towards her and takes her hand in his.
"What is your name, my child?"
"Celestia, sir"
"Well, Celestia. From this point on, you can become anything you wish."
