Full Version: EM pays rent to Amar Empire?

Not so long ago I found myself in the system of Aeddin and in need of some repairs; some EM combat pilots had removed my armor and encouraged me to dock after I chased one of their Hulks around. As I'm sure many of you realize Imperial Armaments Warehouse is the only station in the system.

As I lazily stood on the moving walkway that connected the docking bays past the ship services, and past the market, and past the corporate Offices, and eventually to the bars something caught my eye. At the end of the row offices, next to the Amarr militia recruitment office there was an office with a sign for "The Wild Bunch: Electus Matari".

I did a double take, and nearly ran over a gentleman as I stepped off the walkway.

If you pay rent on an Amarr station, your paying isk to the Amarr Empire. And thus, at least indirectly, supporting the Amarr Empire, the Amarr war effort, and even Amarr Slavery.

I have no doubt it was a simple accounting error, and certainly not an intentional pledge of support for Amarr. After, all it is the only station in the system and an easy thing to overlook?

However I can still say "I have never supported the Amarr empire", and now unless i miss something members of EM can't say that without adding additional quantifier "intentionally". That gave me a quite the chuckle.

I look forward to the explanation, I'm sure I am missing some critical detail.
I can confirm that sometimes when operations warrant an office in a particular system and only hostile stations are available, EM corporations do rent on those stations. This is a regrettable necessity, and is done on a case-by-case basis, trying to assure that the office hurts the hostiles more than they gain from it.

This station is, as you say, the only station in the system. I obviously cannot go into further operational details of this particular case, so I hope this is enough to clarify the issue.
