Hello pilots of Electus Matari,

I am a candidate for reelection for the CSM (Council of Stellar Management).

As one of the oldest RP alliances in the game, one can only assume the roleplaying elements are of the utmost importance.

For this reason, among others, I believe I may best be able to represent your views within the CSM. As a matter of fact, I am one of the few who actually tried to promote that style of play during the previous CSMs, most notably by pushing CCP towards including more missions with associated storylines (Epic Arcs), restoring Live Events, etc.

While not exactly a roleplayer myself, I realize the importance of that aspect for many people, and am willing to go the extra mile to defend and promote it.

I have a candidacy page you might be interested in checking out: http://www.rooksandkings.com/meissa/

Also, I am always available should you want to contact me in-game.

There is little time left to vote, and all votes count. Should you want to vote for me, here is an easy link: http://www.eveonline.com/council/voting/Vote.asp?c=350

Thank you for your time,

Meissa Anunthiel,
Rooks and Kings Alliance
Before anyone explodes over soliciting, I have advised so far three CSM candidates that if they like, they can post to EM forums promoting their case. Meissa's so far the only one who's taken up the offer. Smile
I will be monitoring the thread to answer any question you may have, by the way, so feel free...

And thank you, Elsebeth, for the opportunity.
Hmmm .... I'm ... disappointed !

You are in the process of making such reminders in a lot of forums, but i'm really disappointed to see that in this one you claim that you were actively trying to promote the roleplaying playstyle by "pushing forward epic arc, restoring live events". And at the same time you say the exact opposite on other forums ? Where is the truth ?

I'm referring to this sentence (in response to an amarr roleplayer saying that your program doesn't include anything about roleplay or interraction with environnment) : "La raison pour laquelle je mentionne peu l'aspect RP du jeu c'est parce que je n'aime pas me prétendre ce que je ne suis pas. ". For our non-french-speaking audience, i can roughly translate this by "I said nothing about the roleplaying playstyle because I don't want to pretend what I am not" (and in the next sentence that you tried it, but don't like it, even if you respect it). Where is the truth, did you really promoted the rp playstyle on your previous appointments in the CSM as you said on this topic ("i am one of the few"), or did you said the truth when you talked about it in jeuxonline.info, which is an audience not dedicated on the roleplay ? Btw the link is http://forums.jeuxonline.info/showthread...882&page=5 and I'm referring to your answer to Farel

Well, I know we are a roleplaying audience, but what are your real ideas on this playstyle, were you really actively promoting it in your previous CSM mandates ? Then why did you said your program doesn't include any rp because you were not the best one to promote them on another forum ?
I am sorry for you as I have already voted with my accounts. Good luck.

I stand behind my comment on the french forum, I actually say the same thing on my candidacy website and in this very post. I did not say my program does not include roleplaying, I say my play style does not include roleplaying, because it does not.
Indeed, I say is I am not a roleplayer, I tried it for 5-6 months when I joined eve, it didn't correspond to my playing style and I switched to OOC, even though I try to RP when dealing with roleplayers.

In addition, despite not being a roleplayer, I still recognize the importance of roleplaying to a significant portion of the Eve Community, Electus Matari included, and my not taking part on a daily basis in those activities does not mean I do not support them or try to promote them.

Truly, I was one of the few trying to promote additions to the roleplaying elements, both during the meetings (as can be seen in the meeting minutes), and off meetings (as participants in roundtable meetings at fanfest can attest).

So I believe my characterisation of both myself and what I stand for are accurate and truthful. I'm sorry for the misunderstanding, if there is one, so I shall repeat in 2 short sentences:
- I do not roleplay atm.
- I think roleplaying elements in Eve are important and underdeveloped, and will support and promote additions to it.
Isn't it difficult to promote something that you are not practicing and not liking ?

It's not a flame or a troll, and I honestly appreciate that you try to promote roleplaying, but I have some doubts you can really promote a way to play Eve that you're not experiencing.

It's a very valid question, and I admit a pure roleplayer, were he/she to have decent ideas otherwise, would be more adequate to represent that particular aspect. At least insofar as priori knowledge is concerned. Because I have to keep myself informed indirectly about what happens, what RPers want, what are RPers unhappy about, as opposed to him/her already knowing it.

Beyond that, however, there's a number of things RP enters into considering in CSM matters. When discussing proposals, there sometimes comes the impact one thing will have on your ability to RP, as facilitators (live events, matari-thukker "peace", epic arcs) or hinderance (possible changes in technology).
Even then, requesting more live events and epic arcs is an easy way to favour RP elements, and one does not need to be well-versed in Eve Lore to see the positive aspect.

Restauration of the live events was one of the things I pushed a lot for when meeting with the content team, and I'm happy it made it in.

As was the rebalancing of Faction Ships (when you'd love to be consistent with your character and not fly a ship that's worthless).

I hope that answers your question.
One thing you probably want to know is that ain't no such thing as "RPers". We have wildly varying views on what is good in EVE, and even on what is RP...Wink

Agreed, Electus Matari has a wide range of industrial activities (I regularly buy ammo from you), and I've seen you often enough in carriers to know you're not limited to that.

You however share this aspect that you tend to mostly play "in character", where I default to not.

Likewise, I have a wide array of views and subjects I'm promoting/defending, and I was trying to explain that me not being a RPer doesn't mean you should rule me out for that reason, because I take that aspect of the game into consideration as well. :-)
