LOL, yeah, that's an old classic:
Quote:No, I don't want to do the stupid tutorial...
How do I do stuff?
I don't understand this game.
This game's crap.
There are many people like him. WoW is a great place for them.
Note: You don't start WoW as a PVP god either...
I watched the first minute and nearly had serious allergic reaction to stupidity.
This manifests as a desire to reach through space / time and punch someone in the head.
It smells fake a lot.
The guy isn't that good an actor, the whole video screams he has already played Eve before and is just trying to bring attention to him.
Definitely a fake. Only sailors cuss that much.
Nice that he picked minmatar as best race though. And brutor for the extra hit points.
This reminded me of a co-worker in RSA called Jacque. He used to play AD&D. As he couldn't find a gaming group, he asked to join the group I was with. Unfortunately we were playing
Rune Quest. The 2 games are worlds apart, much like WoW and Eve online.
Rune Quest is mericless and will happily kill you every session if you're stupid. A peasant can still take you out, even if you're on horse back and in the best armour that you can get. This was something that Jacque never understood. Needless to say that he kept asking where the gold was and getting most of us killed.
Eventually someone knifed his 10th character IC, to keep us from being spotted by something really nasty and the player was asked to leave the group.
You don't allow people to make idiot characters?
JM
There's a difference between an idiot character made that way, and an idiot character played that way because the player is incapable of playing anything else.
I've seen the "inflexible and stubborn" effect far more often. A reasonable way to make a character, but too often the player always plays it that way.
What I don't get about people who play idiot characters is that they get confused when their idiot characters are treated like idiots. If someone is too stupid, why would a typical adventurer party keep him around? Same in EVE, if you are a full-out idiot, why would a corp want to keep you hired?
"But I was only RPing!"
"Us, too"
A proper GM will create a story which draws the players in. Having a dumb barbarian might be just the guy you need in a particular situation (and if the GM allows players to play a dumb character, then it should be part of the story).
Yeah, if a player doesn't play well in the group then it is a problem. But playing a stupid character is not.
An RPing is a group story with the players and GM all participants.
EVE isn't just group story telling with the participants being in a given corporation/alliance. There is also the stories of 100+k other people (+ the GM isn't very cooperative). As such, there is no guarantee that a particular subgroup can fit you in, even if you do play well with others.
