This first chapter describes the closeness that Jigger had with his father, Axmar (a Caldari Achura Industrialist, that provided assistance to the Minmatar rebellion). It also touches upon the fact that Jigger has an enjoyment of literature, in this instance -- the fantasy genre. These two things stand out as the most important aspects of Jigger's early life.
