Hi!
I'm sure everyone with internal access to the forums has been enjoying the Upcoming Operations table for a while now. I just expanded it.

It can now also display "ongoing operations", which are basically quick shout-outs of "hi, I have a fleet up, join it!". You can enter a quick description of that - maybe include required ship types or similar - in the new input box in the Upcoming Operations table, and it will add such an op call automatically.

The op call will be removed one hour after it was issued.

Feedback welcome (e.g. is 1h ok? Or rather 30 min?), I also likely added some bugs, so report those please.

PS. I love Python. I hate PHP. I write Python at work and PHP in my spare time. I'm doing this wrong.
Oh, right, you can also prematurely delete your own op announcements, so feel free to play with it. You'll only annoy others for a very short time!

They're also visible to anyone with an operations forum, so EM and Allies at the moment.
I tried to test - I assume I should write something in the text box and submit. Problem is I have no way to submit, as hitting enter defaults to something completely different on the browser (Chrome). Am I missing something?
I typed "Testing Chrome Enter key." into the box and pressed Enter, and a brief loading process accomplished nothing more than blanking the page I happened to be on. (Google Chrome 10.0.648.151)
Chrome is evil :-(

How do I make the default action for enter on an input field in chrome to submit the form the input field is part of?
Ok, found some stuff on ze internet (needs a submit element, even if it's not visible, apparently?), could a Chrome user test this?
Do either of these discussions offer any solution?

It's been so long since I dealt with HTML that I can hardly parse that stuff, and I never did learn JavaScript.

EDIT: Ah, yes, you've won. :D

Okay, so I see a little entry box beside the word Announce:

Just to clarify, if I typed "Shield BC Fleet" and hit enter an op would be created with the current date and time? Would this be internal, or on the ally forum, or am I completely confused?
Or is there no thread at all created, only a note that there is an op?
