Greetings honored diplomats and officials of the EM. As some of you might know, I am Kyriel, Jesmine Aerim. I currently serve as head of House Kyriel and the designated administrator of New Callis, a Republican city-in-making on the planet of Otraren III.
As the title says, I am here to ask you all for assistance, assistance in a matter I'm am eager to resolve for everyone's safety, but somewhat restrained to handle.
When my exile from the Empire was put into effect I was barred from settling or setting foot on any Imperial world, and while my homeland was annexed and lost I did have one geo-front colony left and had to see to the safety of the people there. I was frank and honest and told them the truth; they could pack up their things and return home to be ruled by another house entirely, at the time it was unknown who it would be. Or they could join me in my exile and seek a new home outside the Empire.
To my amazement, not only did roughly 15 thousand men and women decide to go with me, but my last-ditch attempt to settle in the Republic was met with a green-light from Urban management. I had asked to buy a good piece of land on a frontier Republican world, and this land was, to my amazement, sold to me.
It's been some time since then and we have come a long way, our city is growing each day and I'm glad to note we have managed to get along relatively well with the other inhabitants on the planet, despite... history, and cultural differences.
Despite this a rather vocal group, comprising what appears to be multiple individuals from several nearby communities on the planet, have formed. They are out-right demanding that we take our leave from the Republic altogether, or face harsher protests than mere words. They claim to have petitioned the planetary overseers to have us removed, however so far I've been assured by said overseers that my right to settle here is legal, so long as we follow Republican laws and behave ourselves; I have been very strict with my people in assuring that these simple, and understandable requests are followed, and that no harassment or conflict with the other locals will be tolerated, regardless of reasons, least of all religious ones.
Short and simple, I am here to live in peace and quiet with a right to express my beliefs (so long as I don't impose these on anyone who does not wish it) within the confines of the law.
I've seen to it that offenders from my people are punished by the Republic's laws, mostly harmless things so far, but here is where I desperately need your help.
I can handle my own people. They are mostly amarr and ex-slave minmatar and nearly all of them faithful. I was their Holder long before I became 'merely' their administrator and I can keep them in line. The minmatar who demand our exodus from this world, however... I'm loathe to lay my hands on them. I'm not just a recent addition to the Republic and this world, I am an amarrian Imperial by citizenship and even if dealing with these people is perfectly legal by the Republics laws, you can imagine the effect it will have to let amarrian peace keepers and police (or minmatar 'traitors' who 'sympathize' with them) handle those who protest our very right to live here.
This problem has gone on nearly since we made planet-fall all those months ago, and two days ago it hit the point where outside intervention by authority they will respect is desperately needed. One of our bio-domes for the growing of amarrian wheat (in order not to introduce an alien plant to the rest of the planet and avoid the effects this may have on the local ecology.) was not just sabotaged; it was bombed. One side of the dome's wall blown right open. No-one was hurt, but a great deal of damage was done and to avoid contaminants of the local ecology we had to incinerate the entire dome's contents to avoid it's spreading and seeding on the planet.
Besides this latest shocking event, my people keep experiencing harassment by these people on a regular basis, and while we purchase foodstuffs directly from Native Freshfood now and no longer other, local companies, we have even had to pay Native freshfood extra for the transportation as I now fear for the safety of my own logistics line to and from the city. At this point it's likely also hazardous for my people to venture outside our own lands or even the city itself.
The Electus Matari is an old alliance with an excellent record ; I'm convinced that all these people will obey your authority, much more so than my own, that is for sure. While I am honestly not sure what exactly you can do or will do about this, I can only hope you can spare the time to look into this matter. I would not want anyone to live in fear for their life or that of their family, in their own homes, no less.
